The Command of Joint Task Force Omega reports :
1. Troops of the Rapid Deployment Force No.1 conducted military operations that were being carried out aimed at providing security and protection to the inhabitants of the Alto Caño Cafra village, rural area of Vista Hermosa, Meta. Troops were surrounded by a group of approximately 300 people of the region, blocking the movement of the Unit.
2. Faced with this situation, the Military Unit has acted within the framework of respect for Human Rights, the norms of International Humanitarian Law and in fulfillment of the constitutional mission.
3. This Command calls on the inhabitants to lift the blockade and led the military Unit to continue carrying out its constitutional mission.
4. The Joint Task Force Omega will continue working for the peace and security of the inhabitants of the departments of Meta, Caquetá and Guaviare.
