By means of a judicial order, an individual was arrested in the municipality of Restrepo, Meta; he was allegedly at the service of the Clan del Golfo, in order to finance its illicit activities through kidnapping and extortion.
In the framework of military operations framed in the Ayacucho Campaign Plan, the Military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) of the department of Meta and Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) National Police, with the support of military intelligence, arrested an individual apparently a member of the organized armed group, GAO, Clan del Golfo, Gonzalo Oquendo Substructure.
This individual had an arrest warrant for the crimes of simple kidnapping and qualified and aggravated theft, he was allegedly in charge of procuring money from extortions, selective homicides and coordination of kidnappings in the Colombian southeast.
The Meta Military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group), through unified operations and in fulfillment of its institutional mission to eradicate kidnapping and extortion behaviors throughout the country, will continue to carry out operations against crimes that threaten personal freedom, with the I don't pay, I denounce campaign, through prevention activities and military operations that counteract criminal operations.
