Troops train to strengthen military operations in the southeast of the country

Caquet谩. The commander of the Omega Joint Task Force, Major General Eduardo Enrique Zapateiro Altamiranda, presided over a simple but imposing military ceremony in the Barranc贸n  Guaviare, one of the most important training centers of the National Army.

In this act, he granted the diplomas certifying the differential training in fluvial operations to about 140 men, including officers, non-commissioned officers and privates, all of them members of the Ground Operations Battalion No. 7.

These men for 15 days were trained by personnel of the National Navy on topics such as first aid, operational legal procedures, human rights, international humanitarian law, fluvial operations (GAF procedures), combat survival in the water, armament and high caliber shooting. In the same way, their knowledge in the deployment of landing operations and rivers security was reinforced, which helps in specialized operations in the departments of Meta and Guaviare.

This training seeks to strengthen joint military operations on the rivers Ariari, Guayabero, Guaviare and In铆rida, main routes for drug trafficking in the south-east of the country. These zones have in the same way been used as collection and escape centers for the Residual Organized Armed Groups Front First and Front Seventh.
