The permanent operations in the rural area of Puerto Rico have led to neutralizing the plans of organized armed groups that intend to carry out terrorist attacks against the Military Forces and the inhabitants in the south of the country.
The reaction of the soldiers of the Special Energy and Road Battalion No. 19, of the Twelfth Brigade of Colombian National Army, thwarted the terrorist intentions of the organized armed groups that commit crimes in the department of Caquet谩, since, thanks to the work of military intelligence, a gas cylinder-type improvised explosive device was found, with which it was planned to attack the Military Forces and the inhabitants.
The 40-kilo gas cylinder, loaded with 20 kilos of Anfo-type explosive, in the same way contained shrapnel, blades, machete pieces and a motorcycle chain; this happened in the village Los Alpes, municipality of Puerto Rico, Caquet谩.
The neutralization operation was made possible thanks to information obtained through Military Intelligence, which alerted on strange elements on the side of the road.
Immediately the troops that carry out a security perimeter in the sector, coordinated with the Explosives and Demolitions Team, EXDE, the blocking of the road, putting in place the security protocols and the use of the trained dog, to establish that it was a highly destructive device, so its controlled destruction proceeded.
