According to preliminary information, the person transporting this drug intended to bribe the military with large sums of money. By means of this result, eight tons would already be found in less than five months during 2025 in this area of the country.
In compliance with tasks of control and institutional presence, in the last few hours, Colombian National Army, within the framework of permanent operations against drug trafficking carried out in the department of Casanare, in rural area of the municipality of Orocué the finding of more than one and a half tons of marijuana.
This result was possible thanks to the expertise of the soldiers, who, through a checkpoint on a tertiary road that connects the municipalities of Trinidad and Orocué, stopped a vehicle to carry out the corresponding verifications. During this procedure, the driver tried to bribe the members of the Military Forces by means of bribes but the soldiers, acting in integrity, rejected these attempts and proceeded to report the finding of the illicit material.
Apparently, and according to research, this drug would have a cost that would exceed 3200 million pesos. In addition, it is presumed that its final destination would be Europe for marketing purposes.
These operations against drug trafficking are constant and respond to a clear interception strategy with which Colombian National Army counteracts trafficking on the routes used by organized armed groups for the transport and distribution of narcotics.
The person arrested and the material found were put into custody of the authorities for prosecution. In the area, Colombian National Army strengthened the security operation with the aim of continuing to identify and neutralize the different criminal intentions of the organized armed groups.
