The Raizales and residents received 1,321 free medical assistance services, humanitarian aid and enjoyed the best of the seventh art.
Continuing with the inter-institutional commitment to strengthen the comprehensive well-being of the inhabitants of the islands of Providencia and Santa Catalina in the midst of their reconstruction after the Hurricane Iota, a Development Support Activity was carried out in which more than 3,250 people benefited thanks to the joint effort conducted by foundations, State agencies and the Military Forces.
The people attending this support activity, whose purpose was to bring the Unified Operation of the State to these people prioritized and focused by the National Government, receive for free medical assistance services with specialists in pediatrics, neurology, gynecology, optometry, urology, among other branches of medicine. The assisted patients obtain, at no cost, 1,055 medical prescriptions during these specialized consultations that are not usual in these islands.
From April 29 to May 1, the civil and military authorities accompanied the volunteers in this humanitarian activity, especially in the sectors of Casa Baja and Maracaibo, areas heavily damaged by Hurricane Iota. More than 1.2 tons of humanitarian aid consisting of school kits, toilet kits and clothes were in the same way distributed there. In addition, children, young people and adolescents enjoyed the Seventh Art thanks to Cine Colombia and its Route 90.
This successful Activity in Support of the Development took place thanks to the coordinated work conducted by the Navy of Colombia, the Colombian Air Force, the National Army, the Governor of the Archipelago, the Mayor of Providence, the Colombian Civil Defence, Professional Officers of the Reserve of the Navy of Colombia and the Colombian Air Force, Totto, Holistic Center, Cine Colombia, Colgate, the Colombian Institute of Family Wellbeing - ICBF, COPSERVIR, La Rebaja Drugs, Minuto de Dios, Amigos con Misi贸n Foundation, Sonrisas Descomplicadas Program, Caritas Alegres Program, Juan N. Corpas University Foundation, Corporaci贸n Antioquia Presente and Volunteer Optometrists of Colombia.
