With 25 high-impact arrests made in the last week, the Military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) have achieved significant results against kidnapping and extortion reducing the operations of organized armed groups in the country.
It should be noted that the Military Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) Oriente Risaralda, after a joint intelligence and investigation work with the Technical Investigation Corps, the National Police and the Military Units, and in search procedures, reached the arrest of 14 individuals for the crimes of aggravated extortion, association to commit crimes, forced displacement, trafficking and manufacture of narcotics, the majority of them were part of common crime groups.
Another of the most relevant operations was carried out by the Gaula (Anti-Extortion and Anti-Kidnapping Group) Caribe, in coordination with the Gaula of the Police and the Specialized Prosecutor's Office and in more than 10 raids they arrested for the crime of aggravated extortion and forced displacement five members of the Organized Gang, GDO, Los Coste帽os, who were carrying out criminal operations on the metropolitan area of Barranquilla. Among those arrested are individuals who respond to the aliases of Rubio Alba and Barriga.
In the same way, the Military Gaula Buenaventura, in joint work with UNIPOL, made the arrest of an individual required by the Colombian justice for the crime of extortion kidnapping, apparently belonging to the La Local group (GDO), a substructure of Los Espartanos.
Thus, the Gaula Risaralda reported 14 arrests, the Gaula Caribe, five; the Gaula Caquet谩, two; Gaula Ariari, one; the Gaula Buenaventura, one; the Gaula Valle, one; and the Gaula Putumayo one arrest.
During 2022, 114 arrests have been made for the crime of kidnapping and 710 arrests for the crime of extortion, of which 23 belong to the Organized Armed Group, GAO, ELN; 180 to the GAO Clan del Golfo, Pelusos, and Caparros; 73 to the residual GAO; 80 to the GDO, and 362 to Common Crime, for 818 arrests for criminality.
